Man’s Best Friend

“Man’s Best Friend” is a series of oil paintings that uses dogs as symbolic stand-ins for the ways women are policed, praised, and pushed into submission. Each piece draws from the small, everyday battles we silently endure.

These paintings are playful at first glance, but the narratives behind them are raw and real. Painting these stories has been part of my healing—a way to process, reclaim, and laugh a little in the face of it all. My hope is that this collection helps other women feel seen, validated, and little less alone in their own experiences.
