In Heat

$495.00

This piece marks the final painting in my Man’s Best Friend series.

I leaned into the details of the foaming mouth, sharp teeth, and intense bark to reflect the way women are mocked or dismissed during their period. The bright red background isn’t subtle, and neither is the message.

In Heat is about the frustration of being told to calm down, to smile, to keep it together — when your body is doing the exact opposite. It’s about being punished for feeling too much, too loudly, at the wrong time.

If the sight makes you uncomfortable — good. That’s the point.

If you can’t handle the bite, don’t provoke the dog.
